The technical characteristics of the latest Bulgarian fighter F-16 Block 70 are disclosed

~ ~ ~ < p >In total, Bulgaria ordered 16 F-16 Block 70 aircraft within two contracts signed in 2019 and 2022. They should replace the MiG-29 outdated fighter fighter. The first party supply has been delayed due to global logistics difficulties, but now start with the first board transfer. The rest of the aircraft is expected by the end of 2025, and the second party & mdash; by 2027.

< p > F-16 Block 70 & mdash; It is the most modern modification of the multi-purpose F-16 fighter, which combines advanced avionic, increased combat efficiency and improved survivability. It is equipped with a radar with an active phased An/APG-83 grid, which provides better situational awareness and ability to detect targets at long distances. New digital cockpit, modern flight control system and improved body structure extend the life of the aircraft up to 12 & thinsp; 000 hours.

< p > The fighter is able to carry a wide range of weapons, including class rockets & laquo; air-air & raquo; AIM-120 amraam, & laquo; air-earth & raquo; AGM-158 JASSM, as well as JDAM high-precision bombs. Equipped with General Electric F110-GE-129 or Pratt & Amp; Whitney F100-PW-229, it develops speeds over 2 & thinsp; 000 km/h and has a combat radius up to 1 & thinsp; 500 km. F-16 Block 70 adapted to work in a modern battlefield and meets the requirements of long-term operation.

< P > Due to this modernization, Bulgaria Air Force receives new defense capabilities, including expanded air patrol capabilities, targeting and interaction with NATO partners. It is also a step to enhance national sovereignty in the defense sphere.
