The documentary series “Episodes” about the history of independent Ukraine will be released at the Planeta Kino cinema on April 25. It will be shown in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Odesa and Sumy for four days, until April 28.

On April 15, the trailer of the first episode of the documentary series about the history of independent Ukraine – “Episodes: Ukraine at the World Cup” was presented. . The film is dedicated to the quarter-final match between the football teams of Ukraine and Switzerland at the 2006 World Cup.

The film used archival materials, interviews with football players of the national team, coaching staff, sports experts and fans of the Ukrainian national team. The Ukrainian Football Association and FIFA joined the work on the tape, Andriy Shevchenko, Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, Artem Milevskyi, Ruslan Rotan, etc. also starred in it.

The difficult path of the national team led by coach Oleg Blokhin, strong opponents and the decisive match between Ukraine and Switzerland. This is a story about strength and self-belief. And about June 2006, when the whole of Ukraine, from Lviv to Luhansk, was in favor of blue and yellow, says the description of the trailer.

The tape was created by the Ukrainian studio Knife!Films, who previously filmed the documentary series “Flash”, the film “Next” and “History of Ukrainian IT”. Work on the creation of the series lasted one and a half years. The director was Artem Grigoryan, and the producer was Maksym Serdyuk.

The series “Episodes”tells about the history of independent Ukraine. The authors of the project plan to show significant events that have brought up whole generations. It was filmed in the format of first-person accounts using unique archival materials. The series consists of three episodes: “Ukraine at the World Cup”, “Shadow of Chernobyl” and “Don't switch!”.

“Ukraine at the World Cup” is a story about the path of the Ukrainian football team led by coach Oleg Blokhin. About the preparation and the decisive match between Ukraine and Switzerland, which forever went down in history and was remembered by every fan of the national team.

This psychology, cohesion, desire to achieve results were the most important motivators for us. Everyone had the same emotion – it was in Kyiv, in Lviv, in Donetsk, in the Dnipro, in Kharkiv, – says Andriy Shevchenko in the film.

It is symbolic that the presentation of the first episode will take place on the eve of the Euro- 2024, which will be held from June 14 to July 14 in Germany. Fans of Ukrainian football will have an opportunity to reflect, remember historical moments, learn more about the processes and emotions of Ukrainian football, as well as be inspired to support the national team in the future.
