The student made a revolutionary breakthrough using AI: what he came up with

< img src = "/uploads/blogs/b2/40/ib-freemmq6n_9ea2a6bb.jpg" Alt = "student made a revolutionary breakthrough with the use of AI: what he came up with"/> ~ < p > The student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Waterloo (Canada) Andrew Watford develops accurate tools for predicting drought using the possibilities of artificial intelligence (AI).

~ ~ < p > About it & nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; in the press release of the University of Waterloo.

< P > It is reported that Votford has contributed to the use of AI to predict the drought in Kenya. The authors of the study combined mathematics and machine learning to develop new methodologies and advance forward in the field of prediction of drought.

< P > The article compares the performance of a mechanistic model with two approaches to machine learning based on physics. The student's task was to write a code for predicting a normalized vegetation difference (NDVI) in the prone to the drought of the Kenya regions.

< p > “We are still far from being sure to predict the drought for five years forward, but this is a step towards trying to find the best way to do it”, & mdash; told Votford.

< P > As noted in the university, about 55 million people worldwide suffer annually from drought. This number is expected to grow as climate change becomes more extreme.

< P > WTFORD Work is intended to solve this problem, because the ability to predict drought in the early stages enables local authorities to introduce effective water management strategies, enables farmers to choose resistant to drought and significantly increases readiness for dishes. < p > “studies do not end in the ability to predict drought. It is a developing tool that will help people and save life”, & mdash; noted the student.
