Galaxy S25 gets new HDR10+ switch and Camera Assistant switch for saving videos to external storage.
It has been revealed that the Galaxy S25 line supports a new camera feature – HDR10+ switch in Camera Assistant. Android Police writes about this.
In addition to a host of software features, Galaxy S25 smartphones get HDR10+ switch in Camera Assistant. To enable the switch, you need to go to Settings – Additional video options.
Another toggle has appeared in the Camera Assistant module to save videos to external storage using the built-in USB-C port. This means that you can save all the high-quality videos shot on the Galaxy S25 directly to an external device, thereby preventing the internal storage from overflowing.
Considering how quickly the device's memory can run out with 4K and 8K videos, this can be a useful addition for video enthusiasts. This feature is available for Pro, Portrait video, Slow motion, and Hyperlapse video recording modes.
It is worth remembering that devices such as the Galaxy S24 already support this feature, but only through third-party applications. Samsung is effectively making these apps obsolete by building support for USB-C storage devices directly into its Camera Assistant module.
It's currently unclear whether these new Camera Assistant features will arrive on older Galaxy flagships with the One UI 7 update. SamMobile speculates that they could be exclusive to future flagships, but there's no definitive answer yet.
