Immensely popular Helldivers 2 sold 12 million copies on PC and PlayStation 5 in just 12 weeks, making it Sony's fastest-selling game ever.
Thanks in large part to its wild success on Steam, the new hit was able to show a result of 1 million more copies in the same period of time than the previous record holder, God of War Ragnarok from 2022.
Sony confirmed the sales record in financial results, which also confirmed that PlayStation 5 sales reached 59.3 million units, including 20.8 million consoles in the last 12 months.
Sony confirmed that 77% of games are sold digitally, and the number of active PlayStation Network users increased by 10 million and totals 118 million people.
