President Volodymyr Zelensky recently visited the Donetsk region and signed the legendary ceiling near the entrance. Previously, it was painted over by local “activists”.

Ukrainian military, volunteers and activists again leave inscriptions on the memorial ceiling at the entrance to the Donetsk region.
Our Donetsk region. Our warriors. Our volunteers. Ukrainian people. Everyone who protects our state, its independence, is the life of Ukraine. We should always appreciate the people who do everything so that Ukraine lives and does not submit to the occupier. And we must always preserve the memory of each and every one who gave his life so that the whole of Ukraine would endure. Our independence is our people, their strength, the spirit of all those who in 2014 and on February 24 chose for themselves the path of courage – the path of Ukraine, Zelensky wrote.
Earlier, four volunteers from Pokrovsk “updated” the stele on their own. at the entrance to Donetsk region. They peeled off the unit stickers and painted over the soldiers' signatures, and then covered the monument with fresh paint.
Such an “updating” of the memorial sign, on which soldiers signed during the 10-year war, caused outrage among Ukrainians. After all, many of them are no longer alive, and the signature on the ceiling was a significant reference to the heroes.
