Sony no longer indicates the presence of 8K resolution on PlayStation 5 Slim boxes. Instead, the Japanese technology giant began to refer to support for 4K resolution and 120 FPS.
Similar information appeared on the PlayStation Direct portal, where they also replaced photos mentioning 8K resolution in the PS5 Slim. But some retailers still have boxes in stock that indicate support for the old resolution.
The Japanese company itself did not comment on this matter. Some gamers associate this with the possible announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro, the main advantage of which will be support for 8K resolution.
Sony has not officially announced the PlayStation 5 Pro, so the approximate release date of the device remains unknown. The release of the PS5 Slim took place in November 2023. And the output of the original PS5 – in November 2020.
