Oppo has updated its budget smartphone lineup with the new A3, which still manages to offer interesting specs and design despite its low price tag.
Details
The novelty has a 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution. It's a 10-bit panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and the new Gorilla Glass 7i on top. Maximum brightness – 1200 nits.
The chipset here is a real veteran – Snapdragon 695, which replaced the Dimensity 7050 in the higher Pro model. It is paired with 8/12 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256/512 GB UFS 2.2 permanent memory. The storage can also be expanded with a microSD card.
The camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 lens that can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second (there is also a 2-megapixel depth sensor on the back ). Front camera — it's a basic 8-megapixel module in the central cutout in the display, also capable of shooting 1080p video at 30 fps.
The USB-C 2.0 port allows you to charge your smartphone with up to 45W with a VOOC adapter. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh·h.
Other things worth mentioning are the slim design of the A3 – it is 7.15 mm thick and weighs 178 grams. Connectivity: 5G (two SIM cards), Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth (aptX HD), but there is no NFC or 3.5 mm jack.
Oppo A3 on Chinese marketplaces is already available for pre-order. The base 8/256GB model costs 1,600 yuan (about $220 USD). There's also a 12/256GB model for 1,800 yuan and a 12/512GB variant for 2,100 yuan (about $290). There are three colors to choose from: green, black and purple. Start of open sales on July 5.
