The next Samsung Galaxy will be able to translate content in real time

In 2024, Samsung will equip its new “Samsung Galaxy” with a real-time translation tool, based on artificial intelligence.

It is the company's flagship model, the iPhone's main competitor. Armed with this tool, it will be able to “translate audio and text in real time during a communication,” explained the same spokesperson, without saying how many languages ​​would be supported.

Theoretically, you could therefore call a Spanish friend and speak to them in French. It will receive a Spanish version. Thanks to “integrated artificial intelligence”, the tool will be active even if one of the participants does not use a Samsung model. Speaking to someone in another language using AI will be “as simple as activating the subtitles” of a series, Samsung assured in a press release, specifying that private conversations would be kept safe in smartphones.

An “important achievement”, according to some experts, who note however that “the process will take at least three to four seconds during which the AI ​​will understand the original content, translate it into another language and verbalize it to the person listening. It remains to be seen whether the voice will be retained or whether we will hear a robot.

As reported by AFP, this announcement comes alongside the development of the Samsung Gauss generative AI model, a tool capable of producing language, code and images. It is currently used within the company.

Samsung has indicated that this model will be integrated into a wide range of its products in the near future, without specifying which ones or giving an exact date.
