The network showed the “computer of the future” – with a retractable keyboard and AR glasses

According to the plan, such a computer will be made in the shape of a cylinder, which serves as a base for storing all its components.

South Korean designer Sun-il Kim presented the concept of a new generation portable PC in the shape of a cylinder called Cylin. According to him, this is an alternative to AR/VR headsets, which, despite their innovative capabilities, could not gain mass popularity.

The main reason for their unpopularity is the non-intuitive gestures and voice commands, which are not always convenient, especially in public places or in situations that require fast typing. Cylin solves this problem by providing the owner with familiar physical control tools, writes Yanko Design.

The concept of such a computer is made in the form of a cylinder, which serves as the basis for storing all the components of the device. In addition to theaugmentedreality glasses, there is also a retractable keyboard inside,& nbsp;which twists according to the scroll principle, and a compact mouse that provides more precise control by computer.

This solution makes it possible to use AR glasses not only for entertainment, but also for everyday tasks, for example, writing an article for a magazine on the bus, eliminating the need to use gesture control, which can be inconvenient in a number of situations.

Despite the fact that the unusual form factor may seem difficult at first, the designer is confident that the device will be easy to get used to. High functionality fully compensates for the time spent on mastering.

However, it is important to remember that this is only a concept. There is a possibility that such an unusual product will remain at the development stage and will never appear on store shelves.
