The most expensive comic in history/Heritage Auctions

The comic in which Superman first appeared was recently sold at auction for six million dollars. According to Heritage Auctions, it became the most expensive comic in history.

The auction house called the comic “the most important and influential comic ever published.” CNN writes about it.

The comic was first published 86 years ago, when it cost ten cents per issue. In total, there were 200,000 copies, of which approximately 100 have survived. Despite its age, the comic is in good condition, with rich colors and “just a little wear on top.”

Who knows if the golden age of comics would have happened without Superman, said Barry Sandoval, vice president of Heritage Auctions. on the eve of the exhibition.

The comic was created by American writers Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1938. It tells the origin story of Superman, who was sent to Earth to save his planet from destruction.
