The iPhone 16 Pro Max smartphone will not withstand a drop from a height of 1.8 meters

Allstate Protection Plans conducted an experiment in which the iPhone 16 Pro Max was dropped from a height of 1.8 meters. Although the device's screen was shattered, it continued to work and respond to touches.

The back glass panel was also damaged, but the camera remained intact and continued to function. However, using the phone has become dangerous due to the damaged glass.

Experts advise using AppleCare+ or special cases for additional protection of the glass parts of the device.

The new iPhone models have IP68 protection, which allows them to withstand immersion in depth up to 6 meters. However, Apple has stopped conducting water resistance tests, believing that the devices have a sufficient level of protection.

The cost of AppleCare+ for iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is $180 for two years or $9 per month. For the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, the price of AppleCare+ is $200 for two years or $10 per month.

Replacing the display of the iPhone 16 Pro Max with AppleCare+ will cost $30, while without it — 380 dollars. Replacing the back panel with AppleCare+ costs $30, and without it – 200 dollars. Replacing the front and back glass with AppleCare+ costs $58, while without it — 500 dollars.
