The new marine drone is capable of walking the sea for 5 days at a speed of 6 knots, the manufacturer claims.

The French company Couach presented at the Euronaval exhibition, the multifunctional Magellan surface unmanned aerial vehicle. Defense portal EDR writes about it.

  • length — 6 m;
  • width — 1.3 m;

According to the manufacturer, Magellan is equipped with an innovative hybrid diesel-electric engine, which allows it to sail for 5 days at a speed of 6 knots with reduced noise, remaining inconspicuous.

Magellan is designed so that it can be easily transported in a standard 6-meter container and retrieved without assistance. For this, the developers added a retractable mast and a lifting hook.

The body of the drone is made of composite, carbon and Kevlar, which makes it strong and adapted to defense needs. The drone is also highly resistant to water and was designed using self-leveling technology.
