The iOS 18.2 operating system update brought serious problems that ruined the camera and flashlight

In the network, numerous complaints from iPhone users who updated their devices to iOS 18.2 appeared. They report serious problems that appeared after the update, including the camera and flashlight, which became a real headache for owners. This is reported by WCCF Tech.

What else is known

According to the source, after installing the new firmware, users have encountered strange and unpredictable behavior of the camera. It often does not launch the first time, and when it does, a black screen appears on the screen. Users complain that even after several attempts, the camera sometimes fails to launch. For example, they try to use the camera in the app, but only see a black screen, and only after several re-launches does it work. The same problem is observed with Snapchat. One user writes: «I initially thought it was a problem with my phone, but after looking through the forums, I realized that this is a problem after updating to 18.2. The black screen won't go away no matter what startup method I choose.

Users report that the camera needs to be launched over and over again to get it to work, which makes the phone feel erratic and slow, similar to Chinese Nokia knockoffs. Another issue is with the flashlight — it started to take 5-10 seconds to turn on after pressing the button, whereas it used to turn on instantly. One user writes: “Before the update, the flashlight turned on immediately, but now you have to wait a few seconds”.

As for Apple support, users claim that they are not getting any help from support. They complain that employees often accuse them of being unprofessional and give unnecessary or even harmful advice. One forum member shared a story when, after support advised him to do a full reset of settings and data, his iPhone turned into a “brick” and would not turn on again.
