In Romania, officially opened a service center for HIMARS systems

On Thursday, May 30, a service center for the American HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems was opened in Bacau, Romania. From now on, they will repair and service the equipment that neighboring countries have, in particular — of Ukraine.

This is reported by Defense Romania.

Romania will repair HIMARS for Ukraine

As noted, such an enterprise will be the first in Europe. It was opened at the facilities of the Romanian defense company Aerostar S.A. together with the American military-industrial corporation Lockheed Martin.

As the head of the company's international communication department, Paula Hartley, said, the launch of the complex will contribute to the creation and preservation of jobs in Romania and ensure a reduction in operating costs for the Romanian army.

At the same time, as Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar stated, now neighboring countries that have or will have such MLRS in service in the future will be able to repair them in Romania (in particular, Ukraine).
