The heating season in Ukraine may end early

This year, the heating season in Ukraine will end not in mid-April, but at the end of March. The reason for this decision was the warm weather.

The heating season in Ukraine this year will end at the end of March due to positive air temperatures. Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of Naftogaz of Ukraine, stated this in an interview with Le Figaro, the press service of the National Oil Company reported.

According to the law, the heating season lasts until April 15, but this year it may end earlier due to warm weather.

Usually, the heating season ends on April 15, but this year, due to the positive temperature, it will take place at the end of March, – the official said.

It should be noted that the decision on the end of the heating season is made by local authorities depending on weather conditions and the forecast. The supply of heat can be stopped if the average air temperature for three days in a row is +8 degrees or higher.

Chernyshov noted that Ukraine calmly survived this winter. In particular, due to the fact that energy experts learned the lessons of 2022, Russia massively bombarded critical infrastructure, and prepared well for this winter.

Our energy system is very reliable. But that doesn't mean the Russians haven't tried to attack our infrastructure every day, – said Chernyshov.

Let us recall that earlier Chernyshov said that Ukraine got through the winter entirely on its own gas. The Cabinet of Ministers reported that no changes in utility tariffs for the population are planned yet.
