Apple continues to move towards its concept of the ideal iPhone design as a “solid glass panel” without cutouts and frames.
One of the key steps towards this goal will be the implementation of Face ID technology directly under the screen.
A recently published patent from the company suggests that Apple could solve the main problem with this technology – poor infrared light transmission through the display.
Instead of simply turning off pixels in the scanner area, as previously proposed, Apple's new method involves removing some subpixels (elements responsible for light transmission).
In addition, you can remove some of the wiring and sensor grid, which will also improve light transmission.
