The religious figure of Jesus will be at the center of an extraordinary horror film, taken to the heart of the world. by an American film star. We explain to you:

Jesus at the center of a horror film

The American director Lotfy Nathan was illustrated two years ago with Harka, his first feature film, a Tunisian drama which had been released in in competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 in the Un certain regard category. He will be back soon with The Carpenter, an extraordinary horror film which will feature the figure of Jesus.

The Carpenter will follow a family victim of paranormal events. The son, simply called « The Boy will experience particularly nightmarish divine manifestations. The latter is then influenced; by another child who will push him to turn against his father figure, calledThe Carpenter(perhaps Jesus).

Nicolas cage in the casting

L’ The story of The Carpenter is based on a religious text called The Carpenter. The story of the childhood of Jesus according to Thomas. The particularity of of this text is that it is not recognized by the Vatican and the Church. In this story, The Boy learns to use his powers to do good, to cure the ills of society, rather than to kill and spread chaos. In this text, the The figure of Jesus is much more ambiguous, so much so that he even murders two children out of anger. A text which therefore divides and which will certainly hurt; comfortable with the Catholic public.

The big surprise of this announcement is that Nicolas Cage will star in the film. Indeed, according to Deadline, the actor will play The Carpenter in The Carpenter. The rest of the cast currently consists of the singer FKA Twigs, but also the actors Noah Jupe (Without a sound) and Souheila Yacoub (In body). Filming is scheduled for this summer, and the film does not yet have a release date.
