Christopher Nolan to be knighted/AP
Film director Christopher Nolan and his wife, film producer Emma Thomas, will receive knighthoods and dames, respectively.
The government said the couple is being honored for their services in cinematography. This is reported by the BBC publication.
Earlier this month, Christopher Nolan received his first-ever Oscar for best director for the film Oppenheimer about the father of the atomic bomb.
The film, produced by Emma Thomas, won at the 2024 ceremony with a total of seven awards.
Accepting the award for best film, Thomas said: ” I think all of us who make movies dream of that moment. But it seemed unlikely that it would ever actually happen.”

Nolan has previously been nominated for six Academy Awards, but had never won an Oscar for directing before this year's ceremony.
< p>In addition to Oppenheimer, Thomas has also worked on a number of other Nolan films, including Tenet, Dunkirk, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Batman Begins, Insomnia ” and “Memento”.
The couple met when they were students at University College London and were married in 1997. They have four children and live in Los Angeles.
