The US Department of Defense has begun construction of the country's first nuclear power plant with a IV generation microreactor. This was reported by “Energoatom”.

"The goal of the project – to create a nuclear microreactor to provide stable power for military needs. The reactor is designed so that it can be operated within three days of delivery and dismantled within seven days after», – the message says.

It is noted that the developer has created a high-temperature gas-cooled installation that operates on tristructurally isotropic (Triso) low-enriched uranium (Haleu) with a high content of isotopes:

« It can be transported in ordinary sea containers and will have an installed capacity of 1-5 MW.
