2022 therefore marks Batman's big return to the big screen.Matt Reeves, who directed the two best parts of the Planet of the Apes quadrilogy, namely Confrontation (2014) and War for the Apes (2017), has taken on the Batman myth. With The Batman, he has simply signed one of the most convincing adaptations of the Dark Knight. In addition to this four-star cast, actor Barry Keoghan also appears in the feature film for a cameo. The 31-year-old Irish actor was chosen by Matt Reeves to play Batman's nemesis: the immense Joker.Even though the character only appears for a short sequence, Barry Keoghan has left a lasting impression with a powerful and extremely convincing performance. The question everyone is asking is obviously whether the Joker will return in The Batman II. Will the Joker return? Matt Reeves is currently working on a sequel to The Batman. Expected in theaters on September 30, 2026, fans of the Dark Knight are eager to discover this sequel that we hope will live up to the first part. In the midst of promoting his next film, Bring Them Down, Barry Keoghan was interviewed by Variety about his return in The Batman II. As usual, Barry Keoghan has remained very evasive, and has repeated several times that he has no right to speak on this subject. However, his somewhat embarrassed attitude, and his excitement around this question, demonstrate that something is brewing. So there is a good chance that we will see Barry Keoghan again as the Joker in The Batman II. And that is excellent news.
