The Acolyte star responds to his critics in song

A little earlier in the week, we returned to this controversy that arose after the release of episode 4 of The Acolyte, which sparked the anger of many fans following this the appearance of this cult Jedi from the prelogy. And the fact is that the new Star Wars series has caused a lot of ink to flow since its debut, attracting all kinds of criticism. This is why one of the stars of the project was keen to do so. respond to his detractors, and this in a way that is at least quite atypical.

Since its launch on Disney+ at the beginning of June, the new Star Wars series The Acolyte has been a hit. the chronicle, and not necessarily in a positive way. Indeed, the series has attracted the ire of many fans, for various reasons. There was in particular this scene taking place in space, which was criticized by some for its lack of realism. Others have also criticized the the inconsistencies that can be found there and which call into question the already existing lore; established, at like the appearance of Ki-Adi-Mundi in episode 4.

Finally, others are simply not excited by Lucasfilm's latest project, once again calling into question Disney's strategy and its approach deemed too “woke”. These are all the reasons that led to this Amandla Stenberg à; to speak, the interpreter of Mae (and Osha) having thus insisted on respond to his detractors.

For this,the star of The Acolyte then realized music with a video clip on the occasion of Juneteenth, a national holiday in the United States symbolizing the emancipation of African-American slaves in the south of the country.

The post is accompanied by the following message: ” Happy Juneteenth, and to those who bombard me with intolerable racism – since it took me 72 hours on my laptop to make this song and video, you have 72 hours to respond. And I expect a choreography!!”.

A speech which has once again divided on the networks, counting nearly 120,000 likes in just 48 hours, but also sparking strong criticism from Internet users.
