I cursed myself. How could I not curse? Darka, my daughter, started acting crazy after giving birth to three children. She literally torments her husband with constant scandals. She wants everything at once!
Daria has grown into a beautiful girl. Our village is large, and the school is excellent. My daughter did well in her studies, was involved in gymnastics and choreography. Her face and figure resembled a porcelain doll! Boys fought over her since childhood. Damian courted her since the first grade. After completing his military service, he built a large house, bought a tractor, and came to ask her to marry him.
The whole village celebrated the wedding for three days. At first, everything was fine. My son-in-law managed everything by himself. Two years later, my granddaughter Ania was born. When I saw their happy family, my joy knew no bounds! A few years later, Darka gave birth to twins – a grandson and a granddaughter! Ula and Olek! It was difficult for a young family. I helped my grandchildren as much as I could, but it was hard to keep up with everything by myself, and I live in the house next door. So it turned out that I visited my daughter almost every day.
One day, my daughter overdid it. She suggested to her husband a solution to his financial problem. She announced that she had arranged business trips abroad for him, during which he and his replacement would deliver goods to warehouses and do renovations for strangers.
Over time, my sweet daughter began to get angry. With each business trip, the atmosphere in their family deteriorated catastrophically. She had a grudge against him for leaving her alone with three children. Such scandals became a classic in their family. “I have to help my son-in-law,” I thought. “Otherwise, my daughter will imprison him and there's no telling how this will end. One thing is certain: nothing good will come of this!”
-Daughter, don't be angry! Damian doesn't go on trips with his buddies or on vacations. He earns money. He works hard, poor thing!
-And here I am, just relaxing? Take the kids to kindergarten, feed the chickens and pigs, tend to the garden, get ready!”. “There's so much laundry to do, it's crazy!” my daughter wailed.
-Don't tell me! Laundry? Who did Damian buy the washing machine for? There are only three houses in the entire village with running water! This man can handle everything and earns well! What's he missing? Do you think it's easy for him to work on a bulldozer?” – I was furious.
-Mom, why are you defending him? He doesn't have to take care of three children! And it's easy for you to say that you raised me all by yourself! – Daria continued her complaints about the hard life of women, while touching my wound.
-What, three children bother you? – I couldn't stand this stream of baseless, systematic complaints. – Then why the hell did you give birth to so many? It's hard for her! Doesn't your husband take care of them? I only see him with the children every time I come here! And I've never heard Damian talk such nonsense before!
-Mom! How can you? – Daria started shouting — Go away! If you don't love me or your grandchildren, then get out!
-How can you not love me? – I was surprised.
-Get out of here! – my daughter shouted, not hearing anything.
-Fine. When you calm down, we'll talk — I withdrew, but now I regret it. The words that were said in the heat of the moment and emotions, drove us apart. Very bad. I keep in touch with my grandchildren and son-in-law. I worry about them! The condition of their home has not improved.
Daria did not understand anything, she keeps nagging her husband. What's the point? He will be fired and come back. He will work on a collective farm for a pittance. He will have money problems again. And there will be scandals again. A vicious circle. I do not know what to do. How can I talk some sense into her? She is destroying her family!
