Taken from real life. “Daughter, she better go back where she came from, because you won't be able to live with her”: Daughter-in-law heard from her mother

For some reason I always thought I raised my son well.

I wanted to maintain a warm relationship with him. But it turned out that it was different. He wanted my money, not me.

As soon as I said there would be no more charity because I had to take care of myself, the conflicts started immediately:

– Mom, you promised to send 500 euros to your granddaughter for winter clothes. Don't you realize that the child will freeze?

– Didn't I send you enough money last month? Well, you're parents, so you have to take care of your child!

My son immediately got offended. My daughter-in-law started spreading rumors that I had left the child undressed because of my nasty temperament. I decided to help, but not with money, but with clothes.

I decided to go abroad to earn money just for my son. He got into a prestigious university, and I didn't have money to pay for tuition. Until recently, I sent my son 300 euros every month. Then I said that I had to save up for my own apartment. Then Błażej said:

– Mom, I'm actually planning to get married. Let's buy a big house so we can live together. Why do we need separate apartments? ?

When I arrived, I was surprised. The house was really elegant.

– Can I see my room?

– Mom, that's it… We turned it into a gym.

At first I tried not to show any emotion and calmly explained that I needed a normal bed because I had back problems. But did anyone listen to me? My daughter-in-law made a face at my presence and wouldn't let me go near the kitchen.

One day I overheard a conversation between my daughter-in-law and her mother:

-She brought you something?

-Just a few little things. I'll throw them away later. How long will she stay here? I don't know.

-She'd better go back to Italy, because you won't be able to live in the same house with her.

I was so hurt that I didn't listen to her anymore. I came back the next day. The worst thing is that no one thought to stop me. They were just waiting for my money.

-Mom, it's the end of the month and you still haven't sent the money. What happened?

-I won't make any more transfers, I have to save up for an apartment.

-Why do you need an apartment? We agreed to live together!

-Where? At the gym? Maybe in the basement with the rats?

My son is furious and says that in his old age he won't give me a glass of water. But I won't fall for this manipulation anymore. It's time for me to take care of my old age so I don't end up on the street. And my situation will be a lesson for many people: think about yourself first, and then about your children. Am I not right?
