Taiwanese developers have designed a reconnaissance UAV that can withstand any load

The modernized version of the Teng Yun 2 UAV, developed by the National Institute of Science and Technology of Zhongshan (Taiwan), is undergoing combat testing, the Taipei Times reports .

Last year, UAV combat tests were failed. Now the improved reconnaissance drone “Cloud Rider 2” (Teng Yun 2), has again entered the final stage of testing.

The drone is known to be equipped with a turboprop engine, has a flight range of over 1,000 kilometers, and a maximum height of 7 620 meters.

< p>The UAV is equipped with a satellite guidance system, as well as a payload in the form of cameras and sensors for reconnaissance and surveillance, and projectiles for attacking potential targets. Outwardly, it somewhat resembles the American MQ-1 Predator drone and can use AGM-114 Hellfire missiles (AGM-114 Hellfire — an American air-to-surface missile with semi-active laser or active radar guidance).

Teng Yun 2 has not yet been put into service, but Taiwanese engineers promise to start regular production of the UAV this year.
