Sweden suspends plans to transfer Gripen fighters to Ukraine .
These deliveries were discussed last year, Reuters reports, citing a statement by Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson to TT.
Delivery plans were suspended to allow the introduction of F-16 fighters .
"Other coalition countries urged us to wait with the Gripen system. This is due to the fact that now the main focus is on the implementation of the F-16 system,” Jonson said, referring to countries planning to provide Ukraine with American F-16 aircraft.
Sweden has joined the initiative of allied countries, aimed at helping Ukraine obtain American F-16 fighters and train pilots.
The fourth generation F-16 combat fighters will influence the development of military operations in Ukraine.
At the same time, the Russians are also preparing to their appearance at the front, said the head of the NATO military committee, Rob Bauer.
