A man suspected of arson at a post office and a utility company in the Nemyshlyanskyi district was detained in Kharkiv. He is being investigated for involvement in the destruction of military vehicles.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 25-year-old unemployed man agreed to commit arson for money via social media.
«On December 7, at around 02:25, he set fire to the front door of the post office in the Nemyshlyanskyi district, and then fled. An hour later, the man set fire to a utility company in the same area, but at that time he was exposed by police officers and detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine,», — the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
The man filmed the completed tasks on his phone and sent them to the customer on Telegram. He received the money on his cohabitant's card. Law enforcement officers are checking whether the detainee set fire to the vehicles of military personnel. According to one version, the person in question worked on behalf of the Russian special services.
