Steven Spielberg: his UFO film boasts a four-star cast

Steven Spielberg's next film seems to be taking shape. The beginnings of casting are starting to take shape, with, already, some international stars.

The return of Spielberg

Steven Spielberg is one of the most talented and prolific directors of his generation. Today at the age of 77 years old, he seems insatiable and continues to produce and direct films, each one more brilliant than the last. His latest feature film, The Fabelmans, dates back to 2022. An almost testamentary film, an autobiography in disguise, we wondered where Spielberg was going to take us after this sum film.

It seems that the American filmmaker has set his sights on a genre that he particularly appreciates: science fiction. Written by David Koepp(the screenwriter of Jurassic Park), Spielberg's next film is still very mysterious and secretive. We only know that the story will focus on a plot around UFOs.

A four-star casting debut

Even if we don't know anything about the story yet, a casting debut is already taking shape. Emily Bluntshould play the leading female role. This will be the first time that the actress, recently on the bill for Oppenheimer, will work with Steven Spielberg. She will be supported in particular by Colin Firth (The King's Speech) and by Josh O'Connor, recently on the bill for Challengers. For them too it will be their first time with Spielberg.

The three British actors will then be joined by Eve Hewson, the revelation of Bad Sisters. She was recently on the bill for A Perfect Couple on Netflix. As a little anecdote, Eve Hewson is incidentally the daughter of Bono, the singer of U2. Finally, Colman Domingo has also just entered into talks to join the cast of the next Spielberg movie. That's pretty much all we know about this upcoming Steven Spielberg project, produced by Universal Studios. It is scheduled for May 2026 in theaters, and has the working title The Dish.
