David Beckham and the King of Great Britain/instagram
King of Great Britain Charles appointed David Beckham as an ambassador of the Royal Charitable Foundation. The monarch met the footballer at his Highgrove Garden residence in Gloucestershire.
British football player David Beckham announced this on his Instagram page.
The Beckham family is close to the British royal family. They have repeatedly been present at various official events organized by the monarchs: for example, at the weddings of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011, as well as Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. The footballer is on friendly terms with William, sharing interests in sports and charity.
To meet the monarch, Beckham chose a brown suit and completed his look with a white checkered shirt and a blue tie.
It is a great honor for me to become an ambassador of the Royal Foundation. As someone who grew up in London but has a love of the countryside, I look forward to supporting the foundation's educational programs and efforts to help young people better understand nature. And the king and I shared tips on beekeeping!, – Beckham wrote.
The football star was recognized in the official statement of the foundation.
We are delighted to welcome David Beckham to the Royal Foundation family as an ambassador and look forward to working with him in the coming months and years to share the work of our foundation with a wider audience,' said Christina Murin, executive director of the Royal Foundation, in a statement.
