Spider-Man 4: Andrew Garfield lifts the veil on his involvement in the film

Spider-Man fans are happy to know that Marvel is working on Spider-Man 4. With Jon Watts, who directed the last Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland, leaving the ship, everyone is wondering who will take up the torch for this next installment. And the other question that the public is asking is will Andrew Garfield be in the game. The actor has just lifted the veil on his presence in this project.

Many questions surrounding Spider-Man 4

Marvel has the ambition to continue to offer the public new adventures of the Spider-Man with Spider-Man 4. Last July, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige took the opportunity to tease this project before the release of Deadpool & Wolverine. We knew that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures did not agree on the trajectory to take for this film but Feige had declared that the writers were already at work with the goal of delivering a first version of the script soon.

Many questions are circulating around Spider-Man 4. The first remains to know who will succeed Jon Watts who had directed the last trilogyworn by Tom Holland. Among the names that come up regularly: Sam Raimi. A choice that is not surprising since it is to this director that we owe the trilogy in which the superhero is embodied by Tobey Maguire between 2002 and 2007. Several sources suggest that Raimi and the studio have been in negotiations for several months.

Andrew Garfield reveals if he will reprise his Spider-Man costume

Finally, another question that often comes up is whether, just like for No Way Home, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will join Tom Holland in Spider-Man 4.The actor who played Spider-Man in two solo films has just spoken about this subject during a recent interview.

Andrew Garfield is on the poster of the film We Live In Time (Love in the Present in VF) alongside Florence Pugh. He also reunites with director John Crowley, with whom he worked in 2007 for Boy A. At the premiere of We Live In Time at the Toronto International Film Festival, the actor was asked about his involvement in the Spider-Man 4 project. Andrew Garfield responded to IndieWire:

I mean, the Internet is a huge place. I think there are a lot of people who will say anything to get clicks. So you may have been duped, I'm afraid.

So it seems that the actor is not in the game … but let's remember that for No Way Home, Garfield had denied his participation in the film to finally appear alongside Holland and Maguire. Maybe he's starting his bluffing performance again.
