The Prosecutor General's Office reports that most of the names of the 16 captured Ukrainian soldiers who were executed by Russian occupiers in the Pokrovsk direction have been established.

According to the head of the War Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, Yuri Belousov, 13 servicemen who surrendered to the enemy have been identified.

“We are working on the death penalty for 16 soldiers and have established the details of our 13 servicemen, and details of three more are being established because there is no access to the military unit.” , – he said.

A Russian unit that may be involved in the shooting has also been identified.

As for the information about the shooting of nine Ukrainians on October 10 in the Kursk region, all the details of the crime are also being established and two Russian units are suspected.

“Regarding the situation in the Kursk region, where nine Ukrainian soldiers were executed. We understand who these fighters are. The details of the execution of our prisoners of war are currently being clarified. We know the location where it happened in the Kursk region, and we are working on two Russian units that may be involved in the shooting,” he said.

The head of the War Department noted that in 2024, the number of executions of prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has significantly increased, and the conditions in places of confinement have also significantly worsened, which may indicate corresponding instructions from the Russian authorities.
