A giant wind turbine was built in China, the energy of which will power 55 thousand houses

In China, the most powerful and largest wind turbine in the world was created, which is protected from typhoons and at a wind speed of 10 meters per per second is capable of providing energy to 55,000 homes per year.

Details

The turbine was manufactured by the state-owned company Dongfang Electric at the factory in Fuzhou. According to the company, the record-breaking design is designed to work in regions with wind speeds of 8 meters per second and higher.

The turbine has a propeller diameter of 310 meters, a coverage area the size of 10.5 football fields and a power of 26 MW. Its center has a height of 185 meters, which can be compared to a 63-story building. According to Dongfang Electric, at an average wind speed of 10 m/s, one turbine can generate 100 GWh per year, powering 55,000 homes. This reduces coal use by 30,000 tons and cuts CO2 emissions by 80,000 tons.

The turbine is designed with high corrosion resistance and a double typhoon protection system, making it able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
