Several shells on different trajectories: the NGU brigade received new Czech 155-mm DITA (video)

The DITA self-propelled gun has the ability to fire in the MRSI mode, in which it is possible to fire several shells on different trajectories. In the event of a failure of the onboard electronics on the DITA self-propelled gun, there is the possibility of manual duplication of all functions.

The Azov Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine received the latest Czech 155-mm DITA self-propelled guns — Ukrainian defenders became the first users of these latest artillery systems. The Defense Express portal writes about it.

In November 2024, the commander of the NGU Pivnenko announced the receipt of the first new Czech-made DITA self-propelled guns, which were delivered in just 9 months from the date of the order. The published report of the brigade notes that the very fact of receiving the Czech 155-mm DITA means, in particular, a significant increase in the combat capabilities of the artillery brigade, which can now hit targets, in particular, in the enemy's close rear.

Especially since until now, the brigade's fighters have been forced to rely on towed artillery systems to repel the enemy, which look morally obsolete compared to the DITA, which has such a high level of automation that two people are enough for regular maintenance of this self-propelled gun — commander and driver-mechanic.

It is emphasized that in the event of a failure of the onboard electronics on the DITA self-propelled gun, there is the possibility of manual duplication of all functions — this is the work of the third crew member — the gunner. At the same time, the DITA electronics themselves provide a lot of opportunities for the artillery crew: the machine can perform its functions even in conditions of GPS jamming.

A separate important feature — the ability of the DITA self-propelled gun to fire in the MRSI mode, in which several shells can be fired along different trajectories.

In February 2024, the Netherlands announced the first order for nine Czech-made DITA self-propelled guns for Ukraine, and in October last year — about an additional order for such artillery systems for our army.
