Set fire to an electrical substation: a 15-year-old boy in Odessa was performing the tasks of an “internet curator”

A 15-year-old teenager was detained by the police in Odessa for setting fire to a substation. Law enforcement officers found out that the boy received a task from a «curator» in a messenger. For this, he was promised money, which the underage offender never received.

As stated in the message of the Main Police Department in the Odessa region, in one of the districts of the city, a young man doused the door of a traction substation with a flammable liquid and set it on fire. The fire was immediately noticed by local residents and extinguished the flames. No one was injured.

The teenager was caught at the scene of the arson attack when he tried to take a picture of the “execution of the task”.

The young man could be sent to a special educational institution for three years for his actions.

The police emphasize that the people behind the offers to set fire to someone else's car or apartment begin to blackmail the recruit after completing the first task. They threaten either with reprisals against him or his relatives, or with the transfer of data about the first crime to Ukrainian special services.

The Main Police Department also reminds that they have launched a chatbot «People's Avenger». In it, you can report information about suspicious persons who may be involved in cooperation with the occupiers, preparation of sabotage, assistance in the movement of enemy forces, etc.

You can join the official telegram bot of the National Police via the link.
