This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to prosecutors, law enforcement officers in Kharkiv detained A 25-year-old man suspected of setting fire to public facilities.

The investigation established that the Kharkiv resident agreed to the crimes after he came across an ad on Facebook for “easy money”. On the instructions of an unknown customer, received via the Telegram messenger, the man began setting fire to property in the city.

The first attack occurred on the night of December 7. At about 2:25, the attacker set fire to the door of a post office in the Nemyshlyanskyi district, and less than an hour later – he tried to set fire to a utility company. However, during the second crime, he was noticed and detained by the police.

As it turned out, the man used a mixture of gasoline for his actions, and he filmed the arson process to confirm the completion of the task. The money for the “work” was deposited into the bank card of his fiancée, who was unaware of the man's criminal activities. He reacted aggressively to her questions about the origin of the funds and his night walks.

Currently, the prosecutor's office is seeking to have the suspect placed in custody as a preventive measure. The police are also checking his involvement in other arsons, including military equipment. The investigation is considering the version of the suspect's possible cooperation with Russian special services. The investigation is ongoing.
