British scientists from the University of Southampton (University of Southampton) began testing a new rocket engine for space, which has an almost unlimited flight radius. Theoretically, this would give a spacecraft with a similar setup an almost unlimited flight radius, as the device would be able to refuel with minerals from asteroids, moons and other space objects.

The team will conduct tests of a propulsion system called Super Magdrive in the laboratory to measure thrust.

Dr. Minkwan Kim, head of research and developer of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket plasma engine, noted that the Super Magdrive will help spacecraft and probes reach regions of the universe that were previously thought to be unreachable.
