A 62-year-old woman in Ternopil fell victim to a fraudulent scheme. The pensioner received a call from an unknown person posing as her daughter. She tearfully asked for help, stating that she had gotten into a difficult situation – she had allegedly beaten a minor – and needed money urgently to avoid criminal liability.
Without checking the information, the woman gave the scammers 25 thousand hryvnias. Only after the transaction did she call her real daughter and realize that she had become a victim of a scam. It turned out that the daughter had no problems with the law.
Currently, the Ternopil police are searching for the perpetrators, based on the victim's complaint. Law enforcement officers once again urge citizens to be careful: in the event of such calls, do not rush to hand over money, check the information and consult with relatives or the police.
The Ternopil Regional Military Administration reminds: in case of suspicion of fraud, immediately call 102!
