SBU detained Russian agents who were preparing attacks on railway facilities in eastern Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine has thwarted an attempt by Russian agents to undermine the logistics of the Defense Forces on the southeastern front.

This is reported by the SBU.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, two Russian informants were detained during a special operation, who were collecting coordinates for attacks on the facilities of «Ukrzaliznytsia». The enemy's sights were on the junction stations and railway lines, through which, as the occupiers believed, military equipment and ammunition were transported to the front line.

The attackers used hidden video cameras, which were installed near the railway stations, masking them in tree branches. The data was transmitted in real time to Russian curators. To ensure the smooth operation of the «video traps», the informants replaced portable batteries every three days.

It was established that the detainees – local unemployed men aged 20 and 23, recruited by the Russian Federation via Telegram channels. During the searches, mobile phones, video cameras and power banks with evidence of their activities were seized from them.

The perpetrators face up to 8 years in prison.
