Samsung will continue to strengthen its reputation as a manufacturer with long-term support for its devices in 2025.
According to sources, budget Galaxy smartphones released this year will receive software updates for 6 years. This applies to both major Android versions and security updates.
Samsung's new policy began back in 2024, when the company's flagships received the promise of 7 Android updates and the same number of years of security support.
In October of the same year, Samsung released the Galaxy A16 – a budget smartphone costing less than $250, which received a similar 6-year update guarantee.
In 2025, this strategy is expected to extend to new mid-range and budget models, such as the Galaxy A56. Although there has been no official confirmation from Samsung yet.
