Samsung is preparing its first phone, which will receive 6 years of updates

Rumors about the upcoming series of Samsung Galaxy A16 smartphones do not subside, and a fresh leak of information showed the budget phone in all its colorful glory – both in 5G and 4G versions.

Samsung has not disclosed the official launch date of the smartphones. But rumors suggest that the device could debut in October, so there's not long to wait.

Leaked renders show that both the 5G and 4G variants have triple cameras on the back and a U-shaped notch for the selfie camera on the front panels.

The 5G variant has a slightly more premium look with a glossy finish, available in three color options: Blue Black, Lime Green and Gray (although previous leaks hinted at gold instead of grey).

The 4G model has a more restrained matte finish in the same palette of black, light green and gray colors.

Although the design does not cause much discussion – it's classic Samsung style – here's what we can expect in terms of specs.

Expected Specifications

The phone is rumored to boast a large 6.7-inch display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and a decent 1080×2340 resolution. Under the hood, it could be a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC (in India and Thailand) or Samsung's own Exynos 1330 chipset, depending on the region. RAM can range from 4GB to 8GB, along with 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Keeping the lights on is likely to be a sizable 5,000mAh battery that should offer solid endurance for everyday use. The phone is also rumored to have an IP54 rating, indicating some level of dust and water resistance.

However, what could be the Galaxy A16 5G's real trump card is its software support. Unlike many of its budget rivals, Samsung is apparently promising a whopping six major Android updates and an impressive six years of security patches for the phone.

Details on the Galaxy A16 4G are scarce yet, but leaked renders hint at similar design elements with barely noticeable color variations compared to the 5G model. We'll have to wait for more leaks or an official announcement to get a clearer idea of its specs and price.
