At the Galaxy S25 launch event, Samsung confirmed that it is working on a three-folding phone.
Although the device was not shown, it is expected in the third quarter of 2025 — around the same time as the alleged Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. The latest information comes from industry analyst Ross Young, who claims that the triple-folding phone will feature a 6.49-inch external screen.
When the device is fully unfolded, its screen is expected to grow to 10 inches. Interestingly, Yang also notes that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have the same 6.49-inch external display.
This screen size is similar to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition model, suggesting that Samsung is likely finally avoiding the narrow external screens used in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and earlier models.
But here's what's really interesting: unlike Huawei's triple-folding device, which folds in an S or Z shape and leaves part of the screen exposed, Samsung's triple-folding phone is rumored to use a “G”-style folding mechanism. This means that the display will bend inward on both sides, leaving no screen surfaces exposed, which should increase its durability.
In addition, Samsung is reportedly developing a new type of display and protective film specifically for this device. Given the complexity of manufacturing such a foldable device, production volumes will likely be limited. As a result, the smartphone may be positioned as an experimental high-end product, rather than a mass flagship.
