As „Super Express” reminds, Kowalewski was also the originator and creator of the Jazz Oscars and the President of the Jazz Association “Melomani”. The tragic information about the artist's death was provided by his co-worker in a conversation with the Polish Press Agency.

Ireneusz Kowalewski died on February 11. The cause of the artist's death was pancreatic cancer, which he had been battling for some time.

The Mayor of Łódź, Hanna Zdanowska, emphasized that Kowalewski was a man full of passion. She also called him a „man with a vision” who was always devoted to music.
