Russian special services are looking for Poles to destabilize the situation in Poland before the elections. This was stated on January 18 by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Affairs of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski on RMF FM.
He said that on the Internet, in particular in its shadow part – darknet, messages from Russian agents appear with an offer to pay “thousands of euros” to Poles for actions against their own state, in particular for spreading disinformation.
“I remind everyone: if someone enters into any relationship with foreign intelligence, then this is Art. 130 of the Criminal Code, and this is punishable by imprisonment. Even a small entry into relations with Russian services is espionage, and since January, Russian military intelligence has begun looking for Poles to participate in this. Such a situation has never happened before,” – emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.
Gawkowski announced the announcement of a plan to protect cyberspace to counter the Russians who “want to influence the Polish elections, and emphasized that today Europe needs to be warned about cyberwar with the Russian Federation.
