The main Russian leader issued a decree launching the confiscation mechanism assets of the United States, American citizens and residents in exchange for confiscated Russian assets, reports the Russian service of Radio Liberty.
The decree published on the official portal of legal acts of the Russian Federation states that Russians and Russian companies can apply to Russian courts over "groundless" seizure of property by decision of US courts or government agencies.
After this, the Russian court must recognize that Russian assets were confiscated “without justification,” and a special government commission must offer US-related assets in Russia for compensation – real estate, securities, shares in Russian companies, property rights.
Recall that the long-awaited decision of the US Congress on funding in support of Ukraine also included provisions that give the president the authority to confiscate Russian assets.
