Russia launched a satellite into space, most likely a space weapon capable of attacking satellites in low Earth orbit.

This was stated by Pentagon press secretary Pat Ryder, reports “Voice” of America.

When asked whether it poses a threat to American satellites, a Pentagon spokesman emphasized that it is an anti-satellite weapon located in the same orbit as American satellites.

"Without a doubt, we will monitor this object,", – he said.

According to news agencies, we are talking about the Russian satellite “Cosmos-2576”, which is similar to Russian satellites launched in 2019 and 2022, and which, according to the Pentagon, are also space weapons.
