At least 18 journalists and bloggers from the occupied Crimea are deprived of their freedom and are being held by the Russian occupation authorities in places of detention, said the representative of the Crimean Human Rights Group Iryna Sedova.
“Currently, we have information about 18 Crimean journalists, bloggers, citizen journalists who are deprived of their personal freedom. Almost all of them are in the territory of the Russian Federation. Only one of them, Yesypenko Vladislav, is in the territory of the occupied Crimea, all the others were taken to Russia and are there in various colonies and “SIZO”, – said Sedova during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine in Kyiv on Friday.
According to her, the occupiers are specifically transferring journalists to remote Russian colonies so that they have as little opportunity as possible to communicate and transmit any information about themselves, and so that they cannot see their relatives.
