Rings of Power season 2: why this kiss in episode 7 is controversial

Released on Thursday, September 26, episode 7 of season 2 of  Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has caused a lot of ink to flow, because of a kissing scene between two major characters.

Today, another scene has raised many eyebrows: in episode 7, the elf Elrond kisses Galadriel, before going into battle. Although this kiss was not romantic and was intended to distract Adar in order to discreetly give Galadriel something to free herself from her chains, it did not fail to create controversy. Indeed, a number of fans have recalled that Elrond will marry Celebrian, the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn. In other words, Galadriel is Elrond's future mother-in-law.

I'm not sure what people are in denial about. This scene was 100% romantically framed. The music sounded when they kissed.
