Real-Life Story: “I Put Up With My Husband's Infidelity Until His Mistress Got Pregnant”: He Ruined My Life Even After Divorce

Sometimes, in order to maintain the appearance of family, we turn a blind eye to what hurts us.

That's exactly what I did when I first found out about my husband's infidelity. For years I lived his lies, pretended I didn't know anything and let our life go on as it was… But when one day I found out that his mistress was pregnant, something inside me snapped.

The divorce was supposed to be the beginning of a new life, but it turned into an even worse nightmare. I thought that after signing the papers I would be able to breathe a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, that was when my ex-husband started taking revenge, making my daily life unbearable. But in the end he found someone who wouldn't let him go any further.

When I first found out about my husband's infidelity, it was like a bucket of cold water was poured over me. I wanted to run away, leave everything behind, but I couldn't. I was tied up emotionally, financially, and familially.

After talking to him, I heard promises of change, assurances that it was just a one-time thing. I forgave him because I wanted to believe in a better future – for our family, for us. Unfortunately, as it turned out, this was just the beginning of a series of lies and betrayals that were to come later. It didn't take long for other women to appear in our lives.

My husband had become a master at hiding affairs, knowing exactly when to come home late and how to explain his absence, and I turned a blind eye again. I was tired and too desperate to fight. I thought it would be temporary, that he would realize his mistake… but I was wrong. Everything changed the day I found out his mistress was pregnant.

That was the straw that broke the camel's back. My husband behaved without remorse, and his mistress was much more brazen than I had imagined. She began contacting me, demanding a divorce so that I could finally “free my husband” and allow him to have a new life with their child. What I heard broke my heart, but it also ignited a spark of determination within me.

I decided to file for divorce. It was not an easy divorce. The divorce process lasted for months, accompanied by mutual accusations and arguments. My husband did not want to agree to a divorce on my terms, and I did not want to agree to his. In the end, we divided the assets, but my ex did not intend to withdraw. As it turned out, the real nightmare began after the divorce.

He deliberately called me, sent messages about his “happiness” with his new family and did not spare words of contempt. He knew that such words hurt me more than anything else, and I could not bear this humiliation any longer. Finally, I decided not to defend myself anymore, but to act. I took advantage of the situation – he had a new family, a baby on the way, and a lot of responsibilities that were just starting to pile up. The truth was that his new partner, despite her appearance, had no intention of being a submissive wife.

I began to give her “information” about his past betrayals, hidden lies, and even how he had manipulated me and the children. After a few months of my discreet actions, I learned that his mistress had finally left him, taking the child and refusing to care for him.

Now he had to fight to rebuild his life – alone and with new problems of his own making. The sight of his dejected face brought me relief, but not joy. I realized that revenge does not bring happiness, but it does bring a sense of justice. I finally realized that I had regained my freedom, and my ex finally understood how his decisions affected everyone around him.
