Real-life. “My Wife's Sister Brought Her Husband Home”: He Gave Her an Ultimatum, Either Him or Her Mother

Before I married Zofia, I traveled for three years looking for work.

I wanted to earn enough money to buy an apartment and I did. When I got back, we started traveling to different neighborhoods looking for our dream apartment.

As a result, we found a three-room apartment in the city center, close to shops and a school. The only problem was the need for renovation. After buying the house, we had no money left for renovation, but we still thought we had made a good choice. In order not to delay the renovation, I asked my mother-in-law for money to pay off the debt. I said that I would pay it off with any salary. But she refused, explaining that her younger daughter was starting college.

Four years passed. We finished the renovation ourselves. I worked from morning to night, but I finished everything I wanted. Then I started saving for a car, but a month later we found out that we were expecting a baby. Lately, my mother-in-law has been visiting us more and more often. I started noticing that he whispers something to my wife during each of her visits.

When I tried to find out, it turned out that my wife's sister brought a man home – and now they are throwing my mother-in-law out of the house. That's what the guy said: either him or her mother. Now my mother-in-law doesn't know what to do. She spent all her savings on educating her daughter, who now demands that we buy her an apartment. But my mother-in-law can't afford it, so she asks her to move in with us.

They say that our apartment is bigger, there is enough space for everyone. My wife agreed without even asking me. But I firmly stated that it won't happen. When I asked my mother-in-law for money, she refused! And now she's in a difficult situation and asks me to let her into the house she refused to renovate? Let her do whatever she wants like I did back in the day.
