Real-life. “I tell my daughter-in-law the truth and give her good advice”: She keeps taking revenge for my criticism

My son grew up as a serious, somewhat reserved boy.

He did well in school and got into college without any problems. But he hadn't dated a girl for a long time. I even worried about that. Other boys his age were getting married and having children.

My son, on the other hand, first pored over books and then worked hard to build a career.

When he introduced me to his future fiancée, Aneta, I didn't like her right away. No, of course, she was beautiful, tall and slim. Kilometers of eyelashes and nails, a short dress with a deep neckline. An incomprehensible education – some kind of art school. And most importantly, no serious goals or plans for life.

It's not for nothing that they say that opposites attract. However, I hoped that my serious son would be able to influence my wife and change her for the better. Of course, I tried to be smart and not show my daughter-in-law my true attitude.

I noticed that Aneta is constantly taking revenge on me. For example, I ask her to bring her grandchildren to my place for the weekend. I cook something delicious, buy presents for the children, sit down and wait. Half a day passes and I start to worry. I call my daughter-in-law to find out where the children are. As if nothing had happened, she replies that the boys were invited to a children's birthday party, so they won't come.

On my birthday they did something really stupid. I gathered all my relatives at my house. Of course, I invited my son and his family first. And what do you think about that? We sit at the table, everyone is there. Only my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren are not there. In the middle of the evening Aneta calls me and says that they can't come today. She couldn't even think of a good reason! And this despite the fact that they called me in the morning to congratulate me and didn't mention a word about the change of plans! And the next day they showed up with a gift, but separately from everyone else.

What should I do? My daughter-in-law's kitchen is disgusting. The house is always a mess. She always gives unnecessary and mediocre gifts. All our relatives agree with this. Another mother-in-law would kill her daughter-in-law for such behavior. I only advise her what to do. And this queen, as you can see, is still offended.

She also takes revenge in a petty and nasty way. Of course, I told all this to my son. Do you think he listened to me? ? On the contrary, he started defending his stupid woman. To be honest, I felt offended.
